2011 Road Nationals

The 2011 Canadian Road Nationals have come and gone. Team Kurzawinski Coach had good number participating in the Crit and Road Race 40-49 age group with Dave Berry in the 50+ group for the Road Race.

For 2011 the National and Provincial Criterium was the annual CHIN Picnic Crit. This is normally a very fast race and with National and Provincial titles on the line the field was big and the race was fast. In the end Stan was the top finisher in 4th place and with 3rd taken by out of province Dan Martin it meant Stan placed 3rd in Ontario.

The Road Race was another beast altogether, the temperature at the start was mid 30s and it seemed to get hotter and hotter as the race went on. There were over 130 riders on the start line, but only 39 riders managed to finish. The team put in a great effort but the heat became just too much for many. Andy D'Angelo toughed it out and had a stellar finish, placing 8th overall!
